Today, in reading, we learned the acronym I PICK.
I choose a book
P urpose~Why do I want to read it?
I interest~Does it interest me?
C omprehend~Am I understanding what I am reading?
K now~I know most of the words
I PICK helps teach children about choosing good-fit books. Research tells us that the very best way to grow as a reader is to spend lots of time reading, and the majority of that time needs to be with a good-fit book.

Curriculum Night
August 30th 7PM Curriculum Night for Parents
We are looking forward to meeting you on Thursday evening for our Curriculum Night. The evening begins at 7:00 pm in our classroom. (Room 130) We will provide an overview of the year and give you some time to write a quick note to your child. At 7:30, the evening will continue in the commons with a message from Dr. Olson and the PTA. It is a great evening for us to meet one another and the other families in our room.

Welcome!
We had a successful first few days of school. This blog will be our main way of giving the class news and updates. We look forward to sharing photos and information about our studies.
